FLOSSY – A Gritty Brooklyn Story About Love, Loyalty & Breaking Free

How far would you go for love? And at what cost?

Welcome to the official landing page for FLOSSY, a gripping short film that challenges the ‘ride or die’ narrative and the sacrifices Black women make in the name of love.

I’m Kendra Dennis, the writer and director of FLOSSY, and this story is deeply personal. Alongside my incredible producer, Joy Walsh, and brilliant DP, Joao Cueto, we are bringing this powerful film to life with the support of Brooklyn College’s Film Department.

Set in the heart of Brooklyn, FLOSSY follows Kendra, a woman who has always believed in her boyfriend Dre’s dreams—until he puts her in an impossible situation that could cost her everything. Now, she must ask herself: Is loyalty worth losing myself?

We’re shooting on April 11 - 14, using high-quality Black Magic Pocket 6K cameras to capture every raw emotion and intense moment. But we need your help to make this film a reality.
